East Central ISD Educator Earns Presidential Honor

Fatimah Aboueisha, an East Central ISD educator, was recently named one of the best teachers in the country, earning a Presidential Award for Mathematics and Science Teaching. 

Aboueisha is currently an associate dean at East Central High School, but she received this year’s Presidential Award based on her time as a chemistry teacher in 2021.

Aboueisha’s application passed through numerous rounds of review by scientists, mathematicians, and educators at a state and national level before being sent to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy for final selections. This recognition is the highest award K-12 educators can receive from the government.
